13th EMPTA Badminton Tournament 2009

Last Sunday on the 13th September 2009 is the final day of the 13th EMPTA Badminton Tournament 2009. Hooi Yee Sport is represented in the Veteran Men's Double and Mixed Single Under 16. There is 4 single participant in the Mixed Single Under 16.

The Result:
Veteran Men's Double - Champion
Mixed Single Under 16 - 3 Quaterfinalist

Even though the youth does not perform very well because of the back to back tournament but the Veteran still give Hooi Yee Sport some light to show.

Hooi Yee Sport Player's shine at tourney again

The 96 Badminton Tournament has came to an end at about 6:00pm on the 6th of September 2009. The outcome from Hooi Yee Sport's player has been a great success again.

The result is very promising. The following is the result of Hooi Yee Sport's Player:
Ladies Double Open - Champion
Boys' Double Under 18 - Runner Up and Semifinalist
Girls' Singles Under 15 - Semifinalist

No doubt, we have entered into three categories and all came back with the minimum of semifinalist. We are looking forward to the next tournament and hope to have a better result.

96 Badminton Tournament

This coming saturday (5th September 2009), 96 Badminton Academy will be hosting their 1st Badminton tournament. Once again, Hooi Yee Sport is represented by numbers of player in this 96 Badminton Tournament.

The players are none other than the assistant coach and the staff of Hooi Yee Sport. This time will be entering the higher level categories (Under 18 and Under 15). Our main purpose here is to gain exposure for Hooi Yee Sport.

See you there in 96 Badminton Academy this coming saturday (5th September 2009) at Balakong.

KUALA LUMPUR: They may have gone down different paths in their careers but former national women’s doubles pair Lim Pek Siah-Chor Hooi Yee (pic) have one common wish for their former team-mates and current world No. 1 Chin Eei Hui-Wong Pei Tty.

They want Eei Hui-Pei Tty to do better than them and create history at the world championships which will be held in Hyderabad, India, from Aug 10-16.

Pek Siah and Hooi Yee believes that Super Series Masters Final champions Eei Hui-Pei Tty have what it takes to make a breakthrough.

Eei Hui-Pei Tty have equalled the feat of Pek Siah and Hooi Yee by reaching the last eight three times at the world meets in United States (2005), Madrid (2006) and Kuala Lumpur (2007).

Pek Siah and Hooi Yee were the first Malaysians to reach the women’s doubles quarter-finals in the world championships in Glasgow in 1997.

They, however, left the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) in 2003 to join KLRC Bhd. Now, they are on their own.

The 30-year-old Pek Siah has been sparring with Eei Hui-Pei Tty for the last two weeks at Stadium Juara in Bukit Kiara.

“I will be playing for a professional club in Japan (Tricky Panda) in September in Osaka. I have the permission from Rexy (Mainaky) to spar with Eei Hui-Pei Tty,” said Pek Siah.
“I am proud of their achievements so far. They have done well to raise the image of the women’s doubles.

“I think, they have quite a good draw. And I hope that they will take advantage.”

Seeded top for the first time, Eei Hui-Pei Tty are in the same half with fourth seeds Ha Jung-eun-Kim Min-jung of South Korea; fifth seeds Du Jing-Yu Yang of China; 11th seeds Miyuki Maeda-Satoko Suetsuna of Ja­­pan and 13th seeds Nitya Krishin­da Maheswari-Greysia Polii of Indonesia.

“They are expected to take on Du Jing-Yu Yang in the quarter-finals. They are not that good as they have not played for a while. But the pair from Japan could be tough,” said Pek Siah.

The Malaysians may meet Miyuki-Satoko in the third round.
Hooi Yee, who recently became the first women shuttler to open her own badminton shop – Hooi Yee Sport in Taman Maluri – also feels that Eei Hui-Pei Tty could get the monkey off their backs.

“Eei Hui-Pei Tty were ranked as the third pair when Pek Siah and I were at the top. They certainly have come a long way,” said Hooi Yee.

“It will be a proud moment for all the women’s doubles players if Eei Hui-Pei Tty can clear the quarter-finals for the first time. They have done well as a pair so far and I wish them the best of luck.”

Eei Hui-Pei Tty, the 2008 Danish Open champions, are certainly working extra hard to make an impact in their fifth world meet.
They will leave with the national team for Hyderabad on Friday.

左會漪新店開張

(吉隆坡2日訊)大馬羽球前國手左會漪成功打造自己的夢想，打球之餘，兼當教練和體育用品老闆，繼續幫助大馬發展羽球運動和培育人才。

左會漪（中）實現當老闆的夢想，兩位師弟李宗偉（右2）和古健傑（右）替她高興，義不容辭前來為她剪彩。左起為黎輝耀和林雋傑。

左會漪這位女將在國內的名氣可不小，她曾和鄒俊英搭檔，于1999年東運會，成功助大馬摘下首枚混雙金牌，迄今已過10年，尚未有任何組合能打破冠軍荒，難以媲美他們當年的風光。

原想于25歲退役，但左會漪在東運會之后因背傷和意外導致手腕受傷，令她被迫提前于22歲退出國家隊。

李宗偉古健傑剪彩

但退出國家隊后並沒有讓左會漪放棄羽球，她于精英大學完成先修班后，2005年受吉隆坡球拍俱樂部邀請，代表俱樂部參賽，當年與林碧霞贏得斯洛文尼亞和匈牙利公開賽女雙冠軍，表現仍然不俗。

30歲的左會漪當年在國家隊深受后輩球員的尊敬，包括拿督李宗偉，左會漪的體育用品店昨日開張，更邀請到宗偉和古健傑前來剪彩。

談及為何跟宗偉和古健傑的感情特別好，左會漪說：“因為之前跟古健傑的姐姐在全國賽交過手，也時常去她家玩，就認識了古健傑，當健傑到吉隆坡訓練，其姐姐就委託我幫忙照顧健傑，大家的感情就越來越好。”

“宗偉13歲那年就來到吉隆坡訓練，其天賦和勤奮令其他學員留下深刻印象，且他很乖和聽話，所以受到很多人的疼愛，他們都把我當成姐姐看待。”

原是于8月8日開張，但因為宗偉和古健傑將前往印度參加世錦賽，唯有配合他們的時間，提前在8月1日開張剪彩。

會漪也是本店總監，她說：“每位打球的人，都想開自己的體育用品店，希望生意越做越好，再開5間分店，所以邀請宗偉和古健傑剪彩，也是希望達到宣傳的效果。”

“在外界當教練至今已有7年，我不想教太多學生，現在大致上有30多位學生，年齡介于6歲至60歲。”

另一位總監黎輝耀說：“50%的顧客都是來自教球地方所認識的朋友和學生，另50%都是散客。”

林雋傑：器材齊全

有份贊助的apacs體育品牌公司總經理林雋傑也說:“店鋪的大小不重要，最重要是器材齊全，所謂麻雀雖小，五臟俱全。”

“左會漪已有知名度，也有自己的熟客，生意一定會很好，我們也很樂意提供意見給她，祝福她生意興隆，希望她實現自己的夢想，與apacs公司繼續保持更多的合作機會。”
